On the 14th of September, in Belogradchik, took place the Joint Monitoring Committee (JMC) meeting of the Bulgaria-Serbia IPA Cross-border Programme, co-financed by the EU through the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA).
The JMC meeting was led by Nikolay Nankov, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works of the Republic of Bulgaria and Head of the Managing Authority. Ognjen Miric, Assistant Director at the Serbian Office for European Integration and EU funds coordinator, participated in the meeting on behalf of the National Authority.
On behalf of the European Commission, the participants were greeted by Anna Repullo-Grau from the DG “Regional Policy”.
The participants were also welcomed by Tsvetan Iliev Asenov, governor of the Regional Administration Vidin, and Boris Nikolov, major of Belogradchik.
Official guest at the meeting was Aleksandar Milicevic – First Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in the Republic of Bulgaria.
The Joint Monitoring Committee, which includes representatives of the central administration from both countries as well as the representatives of the non-governmental organizations and the regional administration from the cross-border region, has discussed the results of the projects evaluation and 70 projects under the Second Call for proposals with partners from both countries have been approved for financing from the Programme funds totaling 20 397 606.05 euro.
The list of projects financed by the Programme is going to be published on the official Web site of the Programme (http://www.ipacbc-bgrs.eu) as soon as the contracts between the Managing Authority and the project lead partners are signed.
