Description: The overall objective of this action is to enhance the cross-border cooperation in environment protection and social cohesion through more sustainable waste management and alternative employment. The deriving specific objective is to improve the effectiveness of waste management introducing infrastructure and recycling mechanism based on social entrepreneurship. In order to achieve this, these results are to be fulfilled: 1. Capacities of Public Communal Enteprise raised through infrastructure equipment 2. Social cooperative for secondary waste collection, sorting and storage established and operational. 3. Education and information dissemination on environment protection, health and alternative employment realized 4. Skills, entrepreneurship and productivity of Roma collectors strengthened and employment opportunities increased. To accomplish the above, the following principles and methods are endorsed: - Promotion of innovations: joining environmental, economic and social objectives, empowering the disadvantaged generate innovative solutions in LED. An alternative and social economy model will be the establishment of a social cooperative for recycling with 10 members from disadvantaged groups (Roma). Involvement of key actors: the two partner municipalities and the CSO partner YUROM center will build synergies through the support of SIPRU and networking with SWIFT Initiative, the Coalition, Green Initaitive. - Capacity building: training of PCE employees, cooperative members and future potential (social) entrepreneurs from unemployment list will be delivered - Awareness raising: all actors involved in the CB area will be exposed to the concrete benefits of alternative employment, environmental protection and personal engagement in development - Mentoring/transfer of best practices: the know-how, practices and lessons learned in the CB and in Serbia will be transferred to maximize on existing knowledge and trigger multiplier effects. YUROM Center in cooperation with its networks (the Coalition and Smart Collective) will be responsible for the mentoring of the social cooperative - visibility: the use of social and interactive media, web animation and hard-copy promotional material will render visible the achievements, the actors, the CB partnerships and EU funding
