European Cooperation Day 2012 celebration

800x600_2_125.jpg“Growing Closer through Cultural Cooperation” event has been organized on the 21st of September 2012 at the public community center “Bratstvo 1869” in Kyustendil (Republic of Bulgaria) as a part of the European Cooperation Day 2012 initiative.

The event has been organized by the Joint Technical Secretariat of the Programme, in cooperation with the Managing Authority - Directorate General “Territorial Cooperation Management” within the Ministry for Regional Development and Public Works of the Republic of Bulgaria, and the National Authority - Serbian European Integration Office, department for Cross-border and Transnational Cooperation Programmes.

The event was open by the governor of the regional administration Kyustendil – Vladislav Stoikov, and Maria Duzova, director general of the Directorate General “Territorial Cooperation Management”. In their welcoming speeches they both underlined the importance of the Programme for the overall development of the region.

The first part of the event was a classical music concert called “Music without borders”, during which the musicians from the community center “Bratstvo 1869” and the Music School of Nis performed pieces by Mozart, Handel, Brahms, Schubert, Mascagni, and other famous composers.

The second part of the event was a dancing performance prepared by the Association “Partners” from Kyustendil and the Municipality of Bosilegrad, which included pieces from the dancing performance “Balkan Synthesis”.
