The implementation of procedures regarding preventing, identifying, reporting and dealing with the irregularities under the Bulgaria-Serbia IPA Cross-border Programme aims to:

• Protect the financial interests of the European Commission, Republic of Bulgaria and Republic of Serbia;
• Recover the funding misused for irregularities or in case of fraud;
• Prevent similar cases in the future;
• Review systems and procedures for preventing future irregularities;
• Cooperate with the EU and, if applicable, with other countries for disclosure and prevention of irregularities outside the territory of Bulgaria and the partner country.
