Official awarding of subsidy contracts under the Second Call for project proposals took place in Nis, Serbia

The official ceremony for awarding of the second group of subsidy contracts under the Second Call for project proposals under Bulgaria-Serbia IPA Cross-border Programme was held on the 25th of April 2013 at „Tami Residence“ hotel in Nis, Serbia. The contracts were awarded by Maria Duzova, Head of the Managing Authority, Director General of the Directorate General “Territorial Cooperation Management” at MRDPW and Ognjen Miric, Head of the National Authority - Deputy Director and Coordinator of EU Funds, Serbian European Integration Office, Government of the Republic of Serbia.

At the ceremony in Nis 39 contracts joint projects have been awarded with the total value of 10 288 480,49 Euro. The first group of subsidy contracts was awarded on the 23rd of January 2013 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Overall, 26 subsidy contracts have been awarded within the first group with the total value of 7 326 412,87 Euro. Concerning the upcoming budgetary negotiations with the third group of candidates under the Second Call of proposals, approved for financing with a decision of the Joint Monitoring Committee of the Programme, all candidates will be notified in advance for the conduction of the negotiations.

The ceremony and the training event in Nis were organized by the Joint Technical Secretariat of the Programme. More than 180 people took part in the ceremony including the representatives of the Lead partners, the official guests from Bulgaria and Serbia as well as the representatives of the local and the regional media that had the opportunity to interview the Programme officials during the press-conference.

The training event in Serbian language was held immediately after the ceremony with the purpose of preparing the new Programme beneficiaries for implementation of the projects according to the Project Implementation Manual. The training event in Bulgarian language will take place on the 8th of May 2013 at 10:00h at the “Sofia Princess Hotel”, Sofia.
