A team for realization of the project will consist of 4 members. In order to determine the availability of background maps, which contain important information for the project, experts will be engaged.
With the help of equipment procured a digital terrain model will be developed and orographic characteristics will be analyzed in order to define the speed and direction of spreading the fires.
Work teams will harmonize national classifications with the World classification of the land.
Most important climatic factors will be examined, too.
Socio-demographic characteristics, location and extent of traditional resource management and local vegetation (stubble burning, hedges, use of fire to restore meadows and pastures, and more) will be analyzed together with addressing the bio, geo and landscape diversity.
From the perspective of ecosystems benefits of the outbreak and spread of fire will be defined and a land use map and a priority function areas will be drafted.
A database of settlements, buildings and road network will be created.
The potential causes of fire (close to the villages, sights of stationary, sightseeing and transit tourism, farms, hunting and fishing locations, etc.) will be mapped.
Information system will be established on the basis of GIS to integrate all the collected data into a single electronic database. The whole system will be done in the Bulgarian, Serbian and English. Some segments of the database will be displayed on the Web portal.
Series of workshops for primary schools, village inhabitants, tourist professionals and hunters and fisherman will be organized.
Promotion of ecosystem protection from fire shall be conducted through the celebration of important environmental dates: International Day for Biodiversity, International Tourism Day, Earth Day, International Day of forests, etc. All events will be accompanied by the media, and activities will be published on the web site. |
