Description: The activities planned within the project proposal are corresponding with the region’s need of economic development by attracting investors and creating jobs. The planned joint research and analyses on the business potential intend to identify possible business opportunities and areas of interest for investors, thus enabling a joint promotion of the cross-border region. The business potential analyses will also aim to identify the weaknesses and constraints that must be overcome in order to attract investments in the region. Within the scope of the project a marketing strategy for a joint promotion of the areas of interest for investors will be developed. The marketing strategy along with the rest of the project results will be delivered to the local governments for further practical use and implementation. The project will pay special attention to the labour force available. The project experts will analyse the labour force structure and qualification, which combined with the information on the business potential of the region will enable identifying the areas where additional training and education are needed in order to meet the current and future demand for labour force in the region. Aiming to facilitate the business networking and the joint promotion of the cross-border region as a whole a website will be launched. It will contain analyses, useful links (to relevant institutions, statistics, research centers, other web-sources of information for the region developed within similar projects) and an online forum, where businesses from both sides of the border will be able to upload business info, to search for partners, to announce buying/selling goods, etc. The website will be widely promoted not only among the businesses operating in the cross-border region but also among the business associations in other countries, thus connecting the region with wider business community and trying to attract joint investments. Based on the project findings a set of policy recommendations will be developed, addressing the practical implementation of the needs and opportunities identified within the analyses.
