JMC meeting in Vladicin Han - 26.09.2013

A Joint Monitoring Committee (JMC) meeting of the Bulgaria-Serbia IPA Cross-border Programme took place on the 26th of September in Vladicin Han, Serbia. The JMC meeting was led by Ognjen Miric, Assistant Director at the Serbian Office for European Integration and EU funds coordinator. Klimentina Deneva, General Secretary at the Ministry of Regional Development of the Republic of Bulgaria and Maria Duzova, Director General of the Directorate General “Territorial Cooperation Management” participated at the meeting on behalf of the Managing Authority of the Programme.

On behalf of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia, the participants were greeted by Vesna Manic. Among other special guests were the mayor of Vladicin Han municipality, Goran Mladenovic, and the director of the Centre for the Development of Jablanica and Pcinja Districts, Biljana Stankovic.  Ms. Stankovic was also the host of the event since the meeting took place at the newly built center for trainings and provision of information on the cross-border cooperation for entrepreneurs, the disabled and other social and economic categories. The center was built under the project “Centre for Exchange of Information on Cross-Border Economic Cooperation (CONNECTION)” under the First Call for proposals of the Bulgaria-Serbia IPA Cross-border Programme.

The Joint Monitoring Committee, which includes representatives of the central administration from both countries, as well as the representatives of the non-governmental organizations and the regional administration from the cross-border region, has discussed the progress of Programme implementation and the results of the interim evaluation as well as the projects proposed for financing from the reserve list under the 2nd Call for proposals. The Committee approved awarding of 10 subsidy contracts under Priority Axis 2 for which the funds area available and directed the Managing Authority to sign the subsidy contracts with the 3 projects from the reserves list under Priority Axis 1 only when and if enough additional funds become available.

The list of subsidy contracts is going to be published on the official Web site of the Programme (http://www.ipacbc-bgrs.eu) as soon as the contracts between the Managing Authority and the project lead partners are signed.
