On the 13th of May, in Sofia, took place the Joint Monitoring Committee (JMC) meeting of the Bulgaria-Serbia IPA Cross-border Programme, co-financed by the EU through the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA).

The JMC meeting was led by Ms. Lilyana Pavlova, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works of the Republic of Bulgaria and Head of the Managing Authority.

Ms. Sanda Simic, Assistant Director at the Serbian Office for European Integration, welcomed the participants on behalf of the National Authority

On behalf of the European Commission, the participants were greeted by Мs. Nathalie Verschelde from the DG “Regional Policy”.

Special guests at the meeting have been H.E. Aleksandar Crkvenjakov – Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in the Republic of Bulgaria and Mr. Aleksandar Milicevic – First Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in the Republic of Bulgaria.

The Joint Monitoring Committee, which includes representatives of the central administration from both countries as well as the representatives of the non-governmental organizations and the regional administration from the cross-border region, has discussed the results of the projects evaluation and a list of projects with partners from both countries has been approved for financing from the Programme funds totaling 12 230 771 euro.

The list of projects financed by the Programme is going to be published on the official Web site of the Programme (http://www.ipacbc-bgrs.eu) as soon as the contracts between the Managing Authority and the project lead partners are signed.
